How Does
CompoSite work?

COMPOSITE TECHNIQUES:
THE #WHITEOLOGY APPROACH
THE #WHITEOLOGY APPROACH
White Dental Beauty and StyleItaliano developed the #WHITEOLOGY approach to satisfy the increased patient demand for whiter smiles. With a focus on techniques and materials which are both advanced yet simple; #WHITEOLOGY is focused on equipping dentists all over the world with the skills required to create smiles patients will love. Using #WHITEOLOGY, dentists can deliver predictable, repeatable, minimally invasive, smile enhancing treatments for patients in just one visit. White Dental Beauty Professional CompoSite systems are a pivotal tool in this approach.
In the below case study StyleItaliano member, Dr Osama Shaalan demonstrates the #WHITEOLOGY approach, highlighting best practice techniques and use of White Dental Beauty Professional CompoSite systems.
A YOUNG MALE PATIENT (25 YEARS) VISITED THE PRACTICE TO IMPROVE HIS SMILE. HE WAS KEEN TO IMPROVE:
- The general aesthetics of his smile (he had composite veneers already which he was unhappy with)
- His confidence
- The whiteness of his smile

The initial restorations were causing the patient problems. Primarily, the gingival embrasures were not properly considered when restoring the teeth. This meant that the patient could not floss properly and consequently had gingivitis.
THE TREATMENT
At the patients request, it was decided to replace his composite veneers on the upper 8 teeth.
After isolating and etching the teeth, bonding agent was applied in preparation for White Dental Beauty CompoSite Enamel shade (siE) – Figure 1.

White Dental Beauty CompoSite Enamel shade SiE was used to build Palatal shells (about 0.5 mm)

The proximal walls were built using metallic sectional matrices to layer the White Dental Beauty CompoSite Enamel shade – SiE

The next stage in the restoration process involved layering and shaping the mamelons. For this step, White Dental Beauty CompoSite dentin shade Si 1 was used (Figure 3).

White Dental Beauty CompoSite Si 1 was light cured for 40 seconds. The recommended light output is a minimum of 500 mW/cm2.

White Dental Beauty CompoSite Si E (Enamel) was used on the final layer for incisal characterisation and to give the illusion of a natural appearance.

FINAL OUTCOME
Finishing and polishing was used to make the teeth look natural, giving the teeth colour, texture and shine.
